When the Second World War occurred, I was only 3 years old. Subsequently, I was there to witness the surrender of the Japanese.
My school days during 1955-1958 were very interesting. RI was then the only secondary school.
My first job was being a postmaster. My salary was $190 and it was enough to sustain the way of life as prices were low then.
Facilities at that time were not good. However, the working conditions today are more demanding and hectic.
The government had played a part in contributing to my success. The union was good and our wages were increased. I retired as a postmaster and I am very satisfied with my life.
